About Us
How it all started
Wondering how the name Lozano Červenka came about? Simple. Eva Červenková from Středokluky married a charming Spaniard Carlos Lozano and the international name was born. Carlos used to work as a builder, but the crisis in the Spanish construction industry forced him to leave the industry. When the opportunity to buy an olive grove presented itself, they didn't hesitate. He grew up among olive trees and the idea appealed to Eva, who lacked quality olive oil at an affordable price on the Czech market. They teamed up with Carlos's brother, who also owns olive trees, and started production. Eva and Carlos brought the first batches of oil to the Czech Republic just for themselves and gave what was left to friends. But the positive feedback soon convinced them that it made sense to offer the oil further afield. They were also convinced by Lída, Eva's sister, who helped set up the company and came up with the idea of selling the oil at farmers' markets.
Where is our oil produced
Lozano Červenka Extra Virgin Oil is produced in the Andalusian foothills of the Sierra de Segura, at the gates of the Cazorla Segura and Las Villas National Parks, in the province of Jaén. To date, our family's olive groves number 24,000 trees, which means a total production of over 300,000 litres of extra virgin olive oil per year. Our extra virgin olive oil is obtained exclusively by cold extraction from olive trees, some of which are more than 100 years old. Moreover, it comes from an area considered by experts to be one of the best.
Which olive oil varieties we offer
At first, we sold only olive oil of the Picual variety, which is characterized by a distinctive taste with a slight peppery tail. Later, we added an alternative for those who prefer mild oils: the Arbequina variety.
Our philosophy
We want to eat well and healthy every day. Our family roots open this path for us. Olive oil has become not only a job for us, but above all a passion that we want to share. As direct growers and producers, we can offer very competitive prices while maintaining high quality. We were surprised by how many myths about olive oil circulate among people. We want to not only offer the oil at an affordable price, but also help to raise awareness of olive oil in the Czech Republic.
Our range of products
Olive oil makes up the main part of our range, but we have gradually added several types of olives (black and green), capers pickled in vinegar and sea salt, sweet and sour pickles, wine reduction and sherry vinegar. Our crispy almonds are also a favourite. In addition, you can buy our hand-painted Andalusian pottery.
Our team
Although our product range is constantly expanding, only a few people take care of everything. Eva is in charge of marketing, Lída is in charge of sales and Carlos is in charge of financial matters and logistics. Several days a week, you can see our trained sales staff on stands all over the country, who will be happy to help you with anything.
Green gold
We produce extra virgin olive oil of high quality, which is extracted directly from selected olives exclusively by mechanical processes. Our oil is actually the juice of olives, either of the Picual or Arbequina variety. Compared to conventional oils, our oils are very aromatic because there is no mixing of varieties. The oil has a very low acidity, which varies from year to year depending on the harvest. The oil is fresh, and the olives are always harvested from November to January.
Family tradition
Our groves have approximately 24 000 trees, which means a total production of over 300 000 litres of extra virgin olive oil per year. As direct growers and producers, we can offer very competitive prices while maintaining high quality.
Olives and capers
We offer several types of olives, either classic without pits or pleasantly aromatic with pits. And if you like capers, you will surely become our loyal customers. We pickle them in vinegar and sea salt. Our sweet and sour pickles also have their fans.
Sherry Vinegar in Wine Reduction from Jerez de la Frontera
You can also get wine reduction, which is obtained by careful boiling of the finest grapes, or sherry vinegar of caramel mahogany colour with the aroma of plums and dried figs. Both ingredients will enrich a wide variety of your dishes and when you mix them, you get a delicious balsamic.
Almonds
We offer fresh almonds of the Ferragnes variety, which are shelled just before import to the Czech Republic. That is why they are beautifully tender, soft and sweet. They come from the vicinity of the Sierra de Baza and Sierra del Pozo mountains (Granada, Andalusia).
